BABANANGO / book jacket

A former colleague’s husband approached me to design a book cover for his husband’s debut novel, an extraordinary story set during the Zulu War. This historical fiction is the first installment in a captivating three-part series, exploring the lives of two young soldiers as they navigate their deepening feelings for one another amidst an army fractured by race, class, experience, and conflicting moralities. Initially planned for self-publishing, the novel later secured a publishing deal with Cranthorpe Millner. While the publisher chose to use their in-house design team, my cover design remains a speculative concept, showcasing my ability to create compelling visuals that reflect the heart of a story.
